Look up. Way up.
Wings Over South Texas Air Show is a popular annual event that alternates between Naval Air Station Corpus Christi and Naval Air Station Kingsville. It attracts as many as 50,000 spectators and features such high-flying adventurers as the famed Blue Angels precision flyers and the Navy Leap Frogs parachute team.
The 2009 air show will be in Corpus Christi, tentatively scheduled for April 3-5.
Whenever the show is in Kingsville, afterward the Blue Angels pilots are treated to some South Texas hospitality. Dick Messbarger, executive director of the Greater Kingsville Economic Development Council, takes them on a hunting expedition.
